The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued wind and high surf advisories for Oahu.
Northeast winds of 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph are expected until 6 pm Monday. Winds will diminish Sunday evening but increase again on Monday.
The high surf advisory covers East-facing shores of Oahu. Rough and choppy waves of 6′-10′ are expected until 6 pm Monday.
In the forecast, trade wind weather will prevail through the week. The strong and gusty trades will continue into Monday before weakening. We will see more showers through Monday morning as moisture from a dissipated front crosses the islands. Showers will favor windward and mountain areas, though the strong winds will carry many of them across leeward sections as well.
