Duo Diorama: Winston Choi + Minghuan Xu

Ebb & Flow Arts’ A Little More Summer Music, Please series continues on Maui – the third in a series of five events over three Hawaiian islands this summer.

A special multi media production of Burton Beerman’s “Gifts (for you)” featuring Canadian pianist Winston Choi and Chinese violinist Ming Huanxu (Duo Diorama) happens on Saturday, July 9, 7:30pm at the Seabury Hall Performing Arts Studio in Makawao. Lisa Buell and Jamy Woodbury will dance, Reece Pottorff and Peter Swanzy contribute original video, and Todd van Amburgh covers stage and lighting design and narration.

Award-winning Massachusetts composer John Melby will be present for a performance of his “Concerto for Violin, Piano and Computer,” recently recorded by Duo Diorama.

Also on the program are Maurice Ravel’s Sonata No. 1, and Pulitzer Prize Winner, William Bolcom’s Sonata #2, for violin and piano.

There will be a pre-concert discussion at 6:30pm.
