NWS issues High Surf Advisory for Hawaiian Islands

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a High Surf Advisory for north and west-facing shores of Hawaii.

A large northwest swell will produce hazardous surf along the north and west facing shorelines of Niihau, Kauai, Oahu, and Molokai, and for north-facing shores on Maui.

Surf is expected to peak in the early hours of Saturday morning, and then gradually subside. This High Surf Advisory will remain in effect until 6PM HST on Saturday.

High surf along north-facing shores will build to 15 to 20 feet on Friday night. Along west-facing shores, surf will build to between 10 and 15 feet.
