Big Island Police Investigate Eden Roc Murder

A body a found Saturday in the Eden Roc subdivision of Puna has been classified as a murder victim.

Big Island police received a report of a man’s body found near a residence just after dawn on Saturday, January 28. The victim was later identified as 52-year-old Robert John Leong of Eden Roc.

An autopsy conducted Tuesday morning showed that the victim died from a combination of ligature strangulation and a gunshot wound to the head.

Big Island Detectives are continuing the investigation.
